The Chemical Society of University of Sri Jayewardenepura held its Annual General Meeting on
Thursday, the 11 th of January 2024 at the premises of the Department of Chemistry. The meeting was graced by the presence of Prof. Champa Jayaweera, the Head of the Department of Chemistry, along with other senior lecturers of the department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minutes of the previous AGM were read by the outgoing secretary Ms. Dulanjani Gamage. The updated constitution of the Chemical Society was presented and with a unanimous vote in favor from all the attendees at the meeting, the updated constitution was approved as the official constitution of the Chemical Society of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The Crucible, the annual publication of the Chemical Society, was also officially released at the AGM, and was presented by the Editor, Ms. Prasadi Attanayake, to Prof. Champa Jayaweera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new office bearers of the Chemical Society for the year 2023\/24 were then appointed, and Dr.
Suneth Rajapaksha was appointed by Prof. Champa Jayaweera as the new Senior Treasurer of the
society. The incoming president, Ms. Minduli Perera, addressed the gathering. Certificates were
awarded to the outgoing office bearers and committee members of the previous year. The vote of
thanks was delivered by the newly appointed secretary Ms. Shoana Inch, and the Annual General
