{"id":5079,"date":"2026-07-07T19:55:57","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T19:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/science.sjp.ac.lk\/fes\/?p=5079"},"modified":"2026-07-07T19:56:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T19:56:00","slug":"restoring-forests-programme-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/science.sjp.ac.lk\/fes\/2026\/07\/07\/restoring-forests-programme-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Restoring Forests Programme 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 6<sup>th<\/sup> June 2026, the Forestry and Environmental Science Society of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura proudly joined hands with the Center for Sustainability and the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura for Project Hearts of Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held at the Yagirala Forest Research and Conservation Center, nestled within the lush Yagirala Rainforest in Walallawita, Kalutara, this initiative focused on restoring and conserving one of Sri Lanka\u2019s valuable forest ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every sapling planted represents a step towards a greener future, stronger biodiversity, and a healthier planet for generations to come.
