The workshop focused on fostering a culture of continuous improvement across teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development. The event was organized by Dr. Thanuja Paragoda, Faculty Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Her leadership in initiating this timely program reflects the faculty\u2019s continued commitment to promoting excellence in academic standards and quality practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop commenced with a welcome address by the Dean, Prof. Upul Subasinghe, who emphasized the increasing importance of integrating QA mechanisms into all academic functions to ensure institutional effectiveness and student success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full-day program was conducted by the resource person, Prof. Sanjeewa Perera from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colombo, whose deep expertise in QA frameworks and higher education processes significantly contributed to the event\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A special keynote session by Prof. Nishantha Perera explored practical examples of QA in higher education, providing real-world insights into the implementation of quality standards across academic environments. Participants took part in interactive group case studies covering QA best practices in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development, fostering collaboration and applied learning through real-life academic scenarios. The afternoon was dedicated to a panel discussion on \u201cImplementation Challenges and Solutions,\u201d where academics shared their experiences navigating QA systems within Sri Lankan higher education. The session focused on overcoming practical barriers to adopting QA strategies and fostering dialogue around sustainable improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop concluded with participants gaining&nbsp;<strong>actionable strategies and tools<\/strong>&nbsp;to implement QA processes more effectively in their respective academic environments.
