{"id":359,"date":"2022-01-20T04:54:28","date_gmt":"2022-01-20T04:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/science.sjp.ac.lk\/physoc\/?page_id=359"},"modified":"2022-03-09T23:41:27","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T23:41:27","slug":"innovative-idea-competition-2022","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/science.sjp.ac.lk\/physoc\/innovative-idea-competition-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovative Idea Competition 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Inven\u00e7\u00e3o Innovative Idea competition 2022<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u><\/u>Inven\u00e7\u00e3o an innovative idea competition has been organized by the <strong>Physics Society of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura <\/strong>in collaboration with the <strong>Sri Lanka Inventors Commission<\/strong>. The competition <strong>is open for all the undergraduates and postgraduates in the Faculty of Applied Sciences <\/strong>and is intended to encourage and establish an innovative culture among the undergraduate students by providing a road map for a positive change in society.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Competition Overview<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This competition consists of 2 rounds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Individual or groups with a maximum of 3<\/strong> members are eligible to participate, participants must be current undergraduates in the Faculty of Applied Sciences.<\/li>\n<li>All teams and individuals can be pre-registered via <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/84SPpUdSZgZ5aseN9\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/84SPpUdSZgZ5aseN9<\/a> on or before 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0March 2022.<\/li>\n<li>In the 1<sup>st<\/sup> round, all individuals\/teams should submit the application and all required materials via <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/JyNSbgAe5pwXAiwZ9\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/JyNSbgAe5pwXAiwZ9<\/a> on or before <span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px\">30th March<\/span>\u00a02022.\n<ul>\n<li>Competitors should prepare an <strong>Idea Proposal<\/strong> (PDF<strong> format<\/strong>) adhere to the format given on the website about their innovation idea to be submitted with the application form. (Insert link to access the form)<\/li>\n<li>You should upload an <strong>introductory 3-minute video<\/strong> (.mp4 format) describing your idea when filing your application. (Max. 30MB with resolution 720p). It should describe your innovative idea briefly with relevant information of related field, practicability, procedure, resource requirements etc. <u>Don\u2019t insert any names and affiliations in the video. <\/u><\/li>\n<li>The above two files should rename using your name with initials (eg: HSK Perera). For the group, competitors rename with initials of the group leader_G (eg: HSK Perera_G)<\/li>\n<li>For group competitions, only the group leader must submit the document and fill the application with the details of the group members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>All submissions will be judged by an expert judge panel from academia and industry.<\/li>\n<li>Competitors\u2019 innovative ideas and concepts will be kept private and confidential.<\/li>\n<li>In the final round, the finalists will present their innovative idea followed by the Q&amp;A session with the judging panel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Evaluation Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In all aspects the invention should be strong and reliable.<\/li>\n<li>The product should not be a threat to any living being.<\/li>\n<li>Models or ideas of existing products or working processes won\u2019t be accepted.<\/li>\n<li>Products or ideas obtained from the internet should be referenced and proper modifications should be made to make sure the product or the idea is your own.<\/li>\n<li>Novelty of the invention\/innovative idea presented.<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy of the design and procedure.<\/li>\n<li>The instruments and techniques used to improve the productivity of the invention.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to make the idea into a reality.<\/li>\n<li>Estimated budget<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Timeline<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration opens: 24<sup>th<\/sup> January onwards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Virtual webinars: 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> February<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Deadline for the idea submissions: 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0March<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Announce 1<sup>st<\/sup> round winners: 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0April<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Presentations and Q&amp;A session for the final round: 20<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><\/u><strong><u>Certificates &amp;
