duke-japura

As a result of a great collaboration with THEME Institute, Duke University, NC, USA, and University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Department of Mathematics and Department of Statistics), it has been introduced “The Unit for Mathematical and Statistical Applications in Marine Biology”. We aspire to share knowledge and expertise with the mathematical and statistical approaches in marine biology through conducting many researches. Our centre consists with two MPhill candidates and three researchers under three supervisors, Prof. Nishad Jayasundara (Assistant Professor of Environmental Toxicology and Health, Duke University), Dr. Pani W. Fernando (Senior Lecturer in Mathematics, Department of Mathematics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura), and Dr. Niroshan Withanage (Senior Lecturer in Statistics, Department of Statistics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura). The ultimate goal of our center is to enable interaction between Duke University and University of Sri Jayewardenepura to enhance research opportunities.
