The herbarium in the Department of Botany houses a large amount of plant specimens of cryptogams and phanerogams (non-flowering & flowering plants).
The herbarium provides services for vouching the taxonomic identities of plant specimens for undergraduate and postgraduate researches based on plants and plant products.
Each year several piles of new herbarium collections are added to the herbarium from the field excursions conducted for Plant Ecology, Plant Taxonomy and Ethnobotany courses.
