INTRODUCTION TO THE PROGRAMME
The Advanced Diploma in Sports Science and Management, offered by the Department of Sports Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, caters to both non-graduates and professionals already immersed in the sports industry. The programme was originally designed to support government-recruited school-level sports coaches and now it serves as a gateway for individuals to enhance their employability and professional credentials in the field of sports. The Advanced Diploma enriches participants with theoretical insights and practical perspectives, aligned with the Sri Lanka Quality Assurance Framework (SLQF) guidelines. The lectures will be delivered by an experienced panel of lecturers and physical instructors.
The programme features a curriculum intended to improve knowledge, skills, attitudes, mindset, and professionalism across different aspects of Sports Science, Physical Education, and Sports Management by offering 34 theoretical and practical course units. Moreover, the program strives to foster communication skills, emotional intelligence, and professional integrity while nurturing essential leadership qualities for success in sports management.

| ENTRY REQUIREMENTS | |||
| 1. Passed G.C.E. A/L or an equivalent qualification or completion of NVQF level 5 followed by a corresponding cognitive bridging programme or 2. Passed G.C.E. O/L and Provincial/ National/ International level sports achievements or 3. Passed G.C.E. O/L and five (5) years of experience in the sports sector as determined by the Department of Sports Science. | |||
