Estadistica 2021 is the Annual Statistics Day organized by the Statistics Society of University of Sri Jayewardenepura .

The event brings together a variety of individuals from diverse fields related to statistics including undergraduates, lecturers as well as industrial experts creating a platform for all Statistics enthusiasts to interact, share knowledge and learn.

As a first year undergraduate you too can be a part of the Organizing Committee of Estadistica 2021.

Dr. D. C. Wickramarachchi becomes the president of IASSL

Dr. D. C. Wickramarachchi becomes the seventh President of the Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka (IASSL) after being unanimously elected to the post in its Annual General Meeting held in March, 2021.

IASSL is the only professional body of statisticians in Sri Lanka and it has been incorporated by the Parliament of Sri Lanka on 20th September 2011 by the Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Act No. 38 of 2011. This is the successor of the former Applied Statistics Association, Sri Lanka (ASASL) established in 1999. IASSL is a member of the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA) of Sri Lanka.

Dr. Wickramarachchi served as Vice President and Chairperson/ House & Finance Committee of IASSL before becoming the President of IASSL. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, USJ. He graduated with Statistics (Special) degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and obtained Master’s degree in Applied Statistics from the University of Peradeniya, followed by an M.Phil. from the same university. He earned his Ph.D. from University of University of Canterbury, New Zealend. Dr. Wickramarachchi is a former head of the Department of Statistics.
