TEACHING MATERIALS
The Zoology Museum houses a collection of specimens representing major taxa including Mammals, birds, snakes, Amphibians, Fish, and other Invertebrates phyla. We mainly use the museum specimens in teaching and training undergraduate students and Advanced Level Biology students as well as other enthusiasts.
RESEARCH
The zoological museum collections are available to the scientific community. If you are interested in using these resources, you can make a request by sending an email to the museum. zoology@sci.sjp.ac.lk
OTHER SERVICES OF THE MUSEUM
The Department of Zoology organizes a series of practical workshops for Advanced Level students to give some hands-on experience in exploring the animal kingdom as well as our museum.
- Providing museum specimens for school exhibitions and workshops
- Organizing training programs on museum techniques and conservation for government and non-government offices
