The Ethics Review Committee of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (ERC-FAS) successfully held a workshop titled “How to Review a Research Proposal from the ERC Perspective” on 17th July 2025.
The session was conducted by Dr. Rinukshi Wimalasekara, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Botany, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and an experienced member of the ERC of the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
Through an interactive discussion using a real ERC application, the session provided valuable guidance to ERC members, enhancing their understanding of ethical evaluation and strengthening consistency in proposal assessments. The workshop highlighted the ERC-FAS’s commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in research.
