Haritha Wasanthaya 2018
Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival ‘Haritha Wasanthaya 2018’ annually organized by the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science of Faculty of Applied Sciences was held on 26th April 2018 at the Department premises.
Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, the Vice Chancellor of the University and Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences participated in the festival to share the New Year happiness with the students. Also, academic members of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science and other departments of the Faculty of Applied Sciences participated in the festival.
Students representing all departments of the faculty participated in the New Year Festival and to the various folk sports such as Hodama Hinawa (Best laugh), Eluwan Kaama, Aliyata Ahathabima (Placing the eye on the elephant), Olinda Keliya (Mancala game), Kamba Adeema, Kotta Pora etc. taken place throughout the festival day.
