The Innovation Invention and Venture Creation Council (IIVCC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura held the Invention and Innovation Competition and Exhibition (IICE), at BMICH on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2019. The faculty stall of the Faculty of Applied Sciences was successfully organized by the society of Industrial Scholars. 
The guest lectures on entrepreneurship were successfully organized by the society of industrial scholars on the 23rd of May 2019 and the guest speakers were Mr.Mahinda Ranasinghe, Managing Director, Finagle Lanka(Pvt) Ltd, and Mr. A.T.M.U.D.B Tennakoon, Secretary, Finance Commission of Srilanka. Finagle Lanka(Pvt) Ltd was launched as a joint venture between three organizations; finagle a bagel of Boston, Phoenix ventures and ran ovens and in 2011 finagle Lanka has become an entirely Srilankan organization when other shareholders were bought over.
The challenges faced and experiences gathered during this journey were nicely shared with the undergraduates by Mr.Ranasinghe.
The guest lectures on entrepreneurship were successfully organized by the society of industrial scholars on the 23rd of May 2019 and the guest speakers were Mr.Mahinda Ranasinghe, Managing Director, Finagle Lanka(Pvt) Ltd, and Mr. A.T.M.U.D.B Tennakoon, Secretary, Finance Commission of Srilanka. Mr.Tennakoon represented the government sector and the intrapreneurs. He has held many positions such as additional Secretary, ministry of national policies and economic affairs, director of the finance commission, deputy director of Uva provincial council, etc. He shared his experiences with undergraduates on the topic of how to think like an entrepreneur when you don’t own a business.
