A physics seminar/workshop for advanced level students was conducted by the Physics Society;of the Department of Physics of Faculty of Applied Sciences,on the 14th of July 2018,at the University Premises.

Department of Physics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura organizing a workshop designed to enhance the knowledge of Advanced Level Physics/Science teachers on new additions to the Advanced Level Physics curriculum and Electronics.
The workshop to be commenced on 19th December 2015 includes a lecture session followed by two practical sessions. The total duration of the workshop is three days.
Accommodations can be arranged for teachers from distant schools. Priority will be given for the applicants who take early registration.
Workshop Outline

Day 1: Saturday, December 19
From 9.00 am to 4.00 pm
The 1st session of the Workshop will be conducted as a collection of lectures which will cover the following sections of the Advanced Level physics curriculum.
- Units and Measurements (Error Theory)
- Waves and Vibrations (Seismic and Tsunami Waves)
- Matter and Radiation (X-Ray)
- Electronics (FET, FLIP-FLOP)
- Introduction to Nanophysics
Day 2 and 3: Any two days from December 20th to December 23rd
Last two days of the workshop are allocated for practical sessions. Practical sessions are designed to cover the theoretical background of Electronics relevant to the Advanced Level physics curriculum.
