  • I.U. Amarawickrama, Identifying Posture Errors in Kandyan Dancing using Discrete Fourier Transform, 2020, This project won the Physical Science Award (Mathematics) from Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) in 2021.
  • K.M.G.I.U.Dias, Modeling of abnormal gait detection using Discrete Fourier Transform: Parkinson and Stroke Patients, 2019, This project won the Physical Science Award (Mathematics) from Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) in 2020.
  • B.M.Y.U.A. Batugedara, Designing the traffic phases using graph coloring and book thickness to reduce the traffic for a selected junction in Colombo city, 2016, This project won the Physical Science Award (Mathematics) from Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) in 2017.
  • P.A.D. Dilrukhi, A Strategy to Reduce the Waiting Time at the Outpateient Department of the National Hospital in Sri Lanka, 2015, This project won the Physical Science Award (Mathematics) from Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) in 2016.
  • M.G.R.U.K. Ferdinandes, An Improved Strategy to Reduce the Passenger Traffic at Coastal and Suburban Area Division of Sri Lanka Fort Railway Station Ticketing Counters, 2014, This project won the Physical Science Award (Mathematics) from Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) in 2015.

Undergraduate Scholarships

  • Dr. Sirimathi Wewala Memorial scholarship for obtaining highest performance (GPA) for a mathematics (special) degree at the end of the third year
  • Dr. Sirimathi Wewala Memorial gold medal for obtaining a first class with highest performance (GPA) for a mathematics (special) degree at the end of the 4th year 
  • Dr. Sunethra Weerakoon gold medal for obtaining a first class pass with best performance in Mathematics at B.Sc. (Special) degree in Mathematics. 

Postgraduate Scholarships

  • Weerakoon Watugala Scholarship – Best Merit holder with minimum GPA of 3.3 at the end of semester II  (Rs.5000 per month for a period of 12 months  in the 2nd year of the MSc program)
  • Weerakoon Watugala Gold Medal – Best Merit MSc degree holder with the highest GPA for course work component with the thesis
