Four scientists of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, have been recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the latest global ranking released by Elsevier on September 19, 2025. The ranking is based on standardized citation indicators that measure the global impact of researchers across various scientific fields.
Among the 63 Sri Lankan scientists included in this list, seven are from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with four academics representing the Faculty of Applied Sciences: Prof. Meththika Vithanage, Dr. Anushka Rajapaksha, Dr. Kasun M. Thambugala, and Dr. Dimuthu S. Manamgoda. Their inclusion in this list highlights their continued engagement in impactful research and the publication of their findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed international journals. Their work has contributed significantly to encouraging innovation and advancing global scientific knowledge.
