The Chemical Society of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has successfully concluded its Hope Charity Project, an initiative launched to support families affected by the devastating cyclone Ditwah. Driven by compassion, responsibility, and a strong sense of community service, the project mobilized students, staff, alumni, and well-wishers to provide urgently needed assistance.

Over the course of three days, volunteers worked tirelessly to collect, sort, and prepare essential supplies for distribution. Thanks to the generosity of contributors and the coordinated efforts of the Chemical Society, the initiative was completed with remarkable success.

The Chemical Society extends its sincere appreciation to the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Head of the Department of Chemistry, academic and non-academic staff, students, alumni, and friends who supported the project from its inception. Their encouragement, collaboration, and active involvement were instrumental in strengthening this mission. We also extend heartfelt thanks to every member and officer of the Chemical Society for their unwavering dedication.

Special acknowledgement is given to the Sri Lanka Air Force for ensuring the safe transport of the donations to the affected regions. Their timely assistance enabled these supplies to reach vulnerable communities, providing essential relief and restoring hope during a time of great need.

The Hope Charity Project stands as a testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering commitment of the university community to stand with those in need during times of crisis.
