Prof. Dinithi Receives Cash Price for Best Paper by The Journal Gender and the Genome

The Journal Gender and the Genome has offered a $2,500 prize for the best paper on male infertility published by Prof. Dinithi Peiris, Professor in Zoology, Department of ZoologyFaculty of Applied Sciences in the year 2019.
The title of the paper is Male Infertility Problem: A contemporary Review on Present Status and Future Perspective published on 12th August 2019.

“මියැසි දියසර – ගී පැදුර, the annual musical evening organized by the Aquatic Students’ Association of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was successfully held at the “Ehela wala” premises on 05th September 2019 for the third consecutive time with the participation of the lectures, non-academic staff and students of the university.

Felicitation was honored to Senior Professor Ajantha De Alwis  for the excellence of 30 years service given to the Department of Zoology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

“Creative Wild-Eye” Photography competition

Creative Wild-Eye Photography competition 2019 is the innougaral event of this kind organized by the Wildlife Circle of USJP. The key aims of the competition are to:
Recognize the photographic talents of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, while at the same time highlight the great wealth and diversity of Sri Lanka’s natural history. Celebrate the islands wildlife, in all its beauty and diversity, through a collection of inspirational photographs. Showcase the very best of our nature photography to a wide audience and engage all ages with evocative and powerful imagery. Encourage discovery, exploration, conservation and enjoyment of our natural heritage. Raise awareness about Sri Lanka’s biodiversity, species and habitats. Winners and commended entrants have their work showcased in an exhibition and their work will be valued with certificates and prizes.
